Monthly Community Calls

Monthly learning calls give members the opportunity to learn from speakers within the community and each other, focusing on leading and promising practices which enable us as a community to professionalise our responses and support one another.  These calls are recorded and notes are taken and shared with all after each call in our bi-monthly newsletters.

Call Topics in 2022 included: 

  • Exploring burnout, self-care and vicarious trauma led by Sophie Otiende,  Dr Glenn Miles (Up! International), Toluwanimi Jaiyebo (Salvation Army), and Dalaina May (Dark Bali)

  • Developing corporate partnerships led by Matthew Friedman (Mekong Club) and Benny Yu (El Pozo de Vida)

  • Exploring aftercare and survivor employment models led by Dave Saxby (Bloom Asia), Matthew Fairfax (Justice and Soul), and Addie and Jacq (Red Oak Hope)

  • Ethical storytelling led by Lucy McCray (Freedom Story) and Melanie Doucakis (GLC Secretariat)

  • Strategic Planning led by Jacq (Red Oak Hope), Nicole Gallego (El Pozo de Vida) and The Secretariat
